The University Health Centers is functioning at the Jnana Bharathi and Central College Campuses. It caters to the basic medical needs of the staff and students of the University, and is managed by two senior physicians along with supporting staff. The Health Centre is supported by technicians who dispense medicines and has the knowledge to take E.C.G. and determines blood glucose by glucometer. The Health Centre also has experienced Staff Nurses who manages patients during emergencies. The Health center also has a bed for temporary monitoring of BP/Chest pain and other emergencies before shifting to other hospitals, if necessary. Provision is also made for the visits of two specialist Doctors twice in a week. Health Centre has 1. Out patient ward 2. General lab 3. X – ray lab 4. Drug issuing centre. About 14000 patients visit the Health Centre every year. A sum of Rs 11,20,293/- has been spent towards purchase of drugs, chemicals and dressing materials in the year 2013 – 14.
