About VHD Institute of Home Science

• Smt. VHD Central Institute of Home Science came into existence in 1961.
• It is a Government Women’s College in Karnataka offering courses from Pre-University to Ph.D.
• Affiliated to Bangalore University.
• Recognized as a Research Center in the five disciplines of Home Science by the Bangalore University.
• Research promoted through taking up major, minor projects, doctoral work, dissertations at the masters’ level and surveys at the UG level
• 11 faculty recognized as guides by Bangalore University and 3 as research guides by other Universities

I. A female graduate from any recognized University in India, having studied in regular course, the bachelor’s programme in any discipline having secured 50% marks in aggregate (including languages) in their qualifying examination.
ii. Three seats are earmarked for professionals sponsored by recognized institutions in the field of Early Child hood Care/ Education and International Students.
Note: For all the above, the candidate should have secured a minimum of 50% of marks at Bachelor’s Degree.
